Identity Commons is a community of people and organizations who care about the following goal:
To support, facilitate, and promote the creation of an open identity layer for the Internet, one that maximizes control, convenience, and privacy for the individual while encouraging the development of healthy, interoperable communities.
Identity Commons is open, inclusive, and bottoms-up, and all of us abide by a set of principles to help assure this. We provide a minimal structure for supporting community activities, and we hold space for the entire community to collaborate.
Most of the collaboration for Identity Commons is occurring on our Wiki.
You still have to create an account (as an OpenID is not an account) but once you've created an account, you can attach your OpenID (i-name or URL) to your account and thereafter authenticate using your OpenID.
However, as this is a development site, note that any accounts you create here may not carry over to the final site.
